Turboden takes pride in its geothermal plant provided to MHI in Japan

In a recent post on its website, Italian ORC supplier Turboden, a company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, reports that its geothermal power plant provided to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Oita Prefecture, Japan has reached 30,000 operating hours and 99% of availability.

The 6 MWe ORC unit, is the largest geothermal binary plant in Japan and the first geothermal power plant installed by Turboden in the country. The plant is located in the town of Kokonoe in Oita Prefecture, southwest Japan and it is the largest binary geothermal power plant in Japan. The ORC unit exploits geothermal brine/steam at 140°C and the cooling is performed by air cooled condenser.

The resource is made of brine/steam at 140°C. Mitsubishi provided the system integration of Turboden ORC technology to the final customer.
