Ormat seeks necessary permissions for 24 MW Tungsten project in Nevada

Ormat is seeking permission for a transmission line to support its 24 MW Tungsten Mountain geothermal power project in Churchill county, Nevada.

It’s ORNI 43 unit has filed a notice with the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada saying it plans an application with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

The application seeks approval for the construction of a 230-kV transmission line and associated facilities including a 24 MW gross (20 MW net) geothermal energy generating facility, well field and associated improvements for its Tungsten project.

The Tungsten project includes the development, construction, operation, and maintenance of the transmission line which will be primarily on federal land administered by the BLM, as well as on a small portion of privately-owned land.
